Trying to Get Rid of Hormonal Acne May 30 2017, 0 Comments

In this post, I’m going to be talking about the different products that I used on my face in the time that I suffered from hormonal acne. I remember when I broke out for the first time freshmen year of high school, I tried looking for various products to help with this problem. I never needed to use a cleanser before, I always just used plain old water. When I broke out, I found it necessary to start using appropriate cleansers.

Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleanser

The first thing I started using was Neutrogena Grapefruit Cleanser. It had a great smell, was gentle on the skin, and it was everything that I was looking for in a tube! The only thing with this is that it really didn’t do anything for my skin. It didn’t help clear my acne so I turned to other harsher cleansers to help me out.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

I then turned to a Cetaphil facial cleanser. This really broke my skin out. It caused my acne to worsen and as soon as I saw this happening I stopped the use of this cleanser immediately. This is when I realized that my skin was really sensitive.

Clean & Clear Active Clear Acne Clearing

It was the Clean & Clear Active Clear Acne Clearing that helped my skin the most. It was with this, the consumption of large amounts of water, and a healthy diet that got my skin back.

The summer when I broke out before my freshman year of college was when I just used water. I didn’t want anything to affect my face so I thought water was the safest bet. I then went to the dermatologist and they gave me one prescription topical cream to apply in the morning and at night.

clindamycin phosphate

This cream was called clindamycin phosphate. I used this cream for about 3 months and saw not much of a change. This bummed me out so I stopped the use and hoped that my skin would clear up on its own.

benzoyl peroxide cream

Fast forward to December of my freshman year where I began getting insecure about my acne again. I went to the dermatologist again and this time they prescribed me a day and a night cream. The day cream was a clindamycin phosphate gel and the night cream was a benzoyl peroxide cream.

At this time, I was desperate and wanted anything that would rid my stupid hormonal acne! So I went for it. For two days everything was going great until…stay tuned to find out in the next post!!
