When you can, go bare and do not wear makeup on your face. If you have acne cause acne to form slowly over time. Also if you apply your make up roughly, this can cause irritation do the acne you have already and it will take longer to heal. If your face is itching while you are wearing makeup, you should consider taking it off. When your skin is itching while wearing makeup, this means that your skin is being irritated which will cause even more acne.
First of all, makeup clogs your pores. Pores are little openings in your skin where sweat and oil are secreted. They help with absorbing oxygen and carbon dioxide into your skin. If these pores are blocked with makeup on top of them, it will block off the oxygen and carbon dioxide into the skin and it won’t be able to breathe. These blockings of the pores can result in blemishes.
Makeup can improve the look of your skin and give it certain advantages such as SPF and hydration. However, it can have certain ingredients that can be thick on top of your skin and cause your pores to get clogged. Whenever our pores are clogged or have a pimple, the first mistake we make is turning to makeup for a solution. This can make it looked better, but actually, it is clogging your pores even more! The pimples that you have will not get the oxygen that it needs to heal properly. Foundation can clog your pores, especially liquid foundation. It all depends on the kind of foundation that you use though. You should look at the foundation that you are using and make sure that it is good for your skin type. If you use a foundation meant for dry skin but your skin type is oily, you are doing something wrong. Using the wrong foundation for your skin type will cause you to breakout.
Try to avoid products that have these ingredients in them:
- Zinc oxide
- Corn starch
- Titanium dioxide
- Isopropyl myristate
- Facial oils
These will clog your pores.
Not only can using the wrong foundation clog your pores but changing the brand can also clog your pores because your skin is not adjusted to that product yet. So don’t freak out if you change your makeup brand and you start breaking out, your skin has to adjust.
The best thing that you can do for your pores is to let them breathe and use foundation as little as possible. But there are other things that you can try to help if you have clogged pores.
The first thing is trying a baking soda scrub. Household baking soda is an easy scrub that deep cleanses your pores and gently exfoliates your skin. You simply mix two teaspoons of baking soda with one teaspoon of water, which will make a paste. Gently massage this into your skin and leave it for about five minutes. After five minutes is up you can rinse it off. Do this once a week to remove the dead skin cells.
You can also use a lemon treatment to unclog your pores. The citric acid in lemons works to exfoliate skin and clears out any dirt or oil in your pores. Cut the lemon in half and massage it over your face. Leave the lemon juice on for five minutes then simples rinse.
The last thing that I use to get rid of my clogged pores is Biore Deep Pore Cleansing Strips. They are $9 and come in a pack of fourteen strips. You get your nose wet with cold water and put the strip on. This creates a paste so it will stick onto your nose. I usually leave it on for five to ten minutes. When you pull off the strip it acts as a magnet and pulls off your pores.
