Animal testing? A thing of the past. With 2018 in full swing, more and more brands are switching over to the cruelty free side. And from my perspective- it's definitely a side that you want to be on. You can either choose to be a part of the problem, or the solution. And when you choose cruelty free, you're choosing the solution. You're voting with your dollars and telling big beauty businesses that animal testing is not okay.
Not only is it a costly, unnecessary practice, but it's inhumane as most of the animals spend most of their lives suffering, while the waste from the animal testing facilities has a detrimental impact on the environment. Luckily more brands are taking the leap towards being cruelty free, for the benefit of the animals, the environment, and your skin! It's not hard to spot them, just give a quick google check or look for the leaping bunny. To help you even further in your cruelty free quest, here are 14 cruelty free brands that you NEED to know about (like yesterday)!
1. BANISH
Of course, I might be a little biased on this one, but Banish is hands down the best cruelty free skincare brands if you're looking to treat acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, or any other textural issues. Banish is vegan, plant based, and natural as well as cruelty free!
2. BLISS
Spa skincare that is affordable and leaping bunny certified? Yes please! Bliss World reformulated and relaunched early this year, repackaging their products to insta-worthy containers while making the transition to cruelty free. Unlike other spa skincare brands, Bliss is actually affordable and can be found world-wide in Target & Ulta, not just the spa they originated in!
3. AHAVA
You probably already know Ahava's claim to fame: made in Israel with mud and minerals from the dead sea. What you don't know? They're both cruelty free and vegan! Fun fact, in hebrew Ahava means love.

Lush is not only cruelty free, but actively urges other brands to follow suit. Infact, they've been fighting animal testing for decades. Fresh, handmade, cruelty free products (most of which are vegan), what more could you ask for?
5. GLOSSIER
Glossier is definitely a brand curated for millennials. Not only do they have a small, precise selection of no-fuss products but their ingredients are ethically responsible as well. Glossier has been, and continues to be 100% committed to their cruelty free stance.
6. DRUNK ELEPHANT
With a name like Drunk Elephant, you better hope this brand is at least cruelty free! Luckily, they are cruelty free, vegan, and use only clinically clean ingredients. You can feel good using DE too! They're also a supporter of the international elephant foundation, donating annually to help save elephants world-wide.
7. SUNDAY RILEY
Cult-classic and one of my personal favorites, Sunday Riley takes a strong stance against animal testing. Sunday Riley is a luxury, high end skincare and makeup brand that delivers promising results.
8. HERBIVORE BOTANICALS
In case you needed another reason to fall in love with this non-toxic, made from scratch skincare brand- herbivore botanicals is also cruelty free! They have the PETA stamp of approval for being both vegan and cruelty free.
9. FIRST AID BEAUTY

If you never tried the 3-step acne system from Murad, did you ever really go through an acne phase at all? Seriously this stuff is what gold is made of!
