FEELING LIKE A BEAUTY TO A BEAST: MY ACNE EXPERIENCE November 27 2016, 0 Comments

The title may seem a bit harsh, but these are the feelings that describe my situation precisely. Let me tell you something about my before and after skin period.

Not always have I suffered skin irregularities. My skin used to be like most of young people's, very clean and gave me no troubles. The only thing that bothered me was oily skin surface which never caused me any severe acne problems. I had some breakouts now and then that were normal, and were gone before I even knew it so I never even paid attention to my skin, and never thought of what kind of cream or soap I was using, and there were no problems at all.

Funnily enough, there were times when I actually WANTED to get some pimples just to see what it's like to have it. Be careful what you wish for, right?

Everything changed on a hot summer day while I was on vacation. Like most of the girls, I do like sunbathing, and enjoy summer tanning. I used products that would make my tan even more bronze, and because I avoided most of the dangerous sun rays between 11AM. and 3PM, I really never had any problems.

One morning I woke up and noticed that I had some rash on my forehead. It didn't even cross my mind that rash could be whiteheads. I was very surprised and tried to pick on them just to check what were those things on my face. It turned out those were whiteheads. I became a little nervous and picked on them every once in a while, but one thing led to another and there I was, just a few months later – covered with pimples, blackheads, whiteheads - you name it, I had it. The struggle began.

I started using products that I could afford because it was my first year of college, and I
didn't have big budget most of the time. My world completely changed. I had to use some things I never used before like powders, masks, and anything that had ''Get rid of acne'' written on its label.

Given the state of my skin, and not getting any results, I became very sad - disappointed, actually. I considered myself very ugly at the moment. I did not know what was causing all of that, and why the products aren't helping. My mistake was that I didn't go to a dermatologist right away when the problem showed up. Maybe I could have beaten the problem before it escalated like it did back then.

No matter what, it is important to visit a doctor. Doctors perhaps may not help you, but at least you won't end up wondering what it could have been like as I do right now. You should keep in your mind that this is your skin and your body that are at stake. You have only one skin so you need to take care of it.
