As one of the healthiest foods in the world, strawberries can protect the cardiovascular, system with it's anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties. Strawberries are a rich source of antioxidants such as anthocyanins and ellagic acid. Anthocyanin is the red pigment you see in strawberries. It helps to destroy free radicals in the blood damage, tissue damage and cancer-causing changes in the cells.

Ellagic acid content of strawberries has been proven to be able to stop the growth of tumors in the lung, esophagus, breast, cervix and tongue. A study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry discovered that antioxidants found in strawberries can prevent the development of liver cancer cells in humans.
