Calming The Redness Of My Acne Scars July 11 2017, 0 Comments
If you are here, it is very likely because you suffer from acne scars. To me, it was one of the most terrible aspects of acne. I had pimples, yes, but if I had only them I would have had a manageable skin. But with scars, I felt my whole face was so red and I always wanted to hide under tons of make-up. I was unable to go out without making my face up, it was just too suffering for me. It is still a bit hard, but more and more I am willing to accept what is left of my acne scars. There are a few little things that helped me a lot to keep the redness calm.
Don’t be afraid of oil!
I was often told that with an oily skin you need to avoid oil on the skin at all cost. You can find so many studies that say otherwise! Slowly but surely, the Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil by Pai (a great organic brand from the UK) has helped SO much my scars to fade. I put it after cleansing and toning at night. After just three weeks, my scars were already much less bright.
Drink your water
Staying hydrated is crucial to help the scars heal and keep your skin’s appearance young. Drinking the right amount of water your body needs every day will contribute to your general health so much. It is worth trying to drink half your body weight in ounces. That means 90 ounces of water for a 180-pound person. You will definitely feel a difference!
Respect your body needs
If you spend all your weekend swallowing junk food, getting drunk and not sleeping, chances are your skin will reflect it. If healing your skin (and your whole body in general) while transitioning to a healthier lifestyle is important for you at this point of your life, you need to respect the needs of your body. Try to calculate a good 8 hours of sleep every night and incorporate more water in your liquid consumption. Then try to change your food habits slowly in order to eat more food to sustain your skin health. From experience, I know that drinking alcohol is often more a social thing than a pleasure in itself. Learn to know when you have enough just by drinking a glass of water between your drinks. If you still want to drink alcohol after the glass of water, you can consider it. But if you are not sure you deeply want it, don’t continue! You will feel so much better the day after and have a better night’s sleep.
Our bodies are wonderful machines that need the right conditions and fuels to function at their best, don’t ignore it!
