Be Comfortable With Yourself Despite Your Deep Acne June 13 2017, 0 Comments

One of the hardest things to do while battling deep acne is to become comfortable with who you are, at the stage you currently are at. It is so easy to just accept that you are ashamed of your appearance, feel like a failure because you don’t have clear skin, or feel like you are destined to look at the ground to avoid eye contact for the rest of your life. It is a trap that is easy to fall into and much harder to find your way out of. When talking about being “comfortable with yourself” it doesn't mean that you have to believe that you have model good looks or convince yourself you have perfect skin when you don’t. Being comfortable with yourself means to accept the place you are in, but not to settle or let other opinions tear you down. Not settling is key.

Not settling means that you are always trying to better yourself. That may not always be outward. Sometimes the hardest and most important fix during one’s acne journey can be internal. When you set your mind to not settle it sets you up to have an attitude of try, try again. Suffering from deep acne, there is always new ways to improve skin appearance and health and just because something works for someone and doesn’t work for you doesn’t mean that you are going to suffer from acne for the rest of your life. However, it is easy to mix up not settling with hating or despising your appearance. This is something that can be very hard to avoid.

Being comfortable with yourself means that you know you are doing your best. You know that yes, you may be getting new pimples every day, but it is not because you are not trying to do something about it. When someone brings your acne or appearance up, you are not ashamed because you are comfortable with the effort you are making to improve yourself and health. Know that your mind is one of the most powerful things on this earth and if you train it to be hateful and harmful it will do just that and will wreak havoc, but if you train your mind to be positive and encouraging it can be your greatest asset and resource for a cure to your acne. Acne comes from within and is a reflection of what is going in on your insides, your mind included. Have a positive mind that encourages and accepts the stage you are in, is comfortable with it, and has the desire to become better while not settling.
