They’re great for evenly spreading out and flawlessly applying makeup on your face, but sometimes you just have to find the right one! Here's what we have rounded up for you based on popularity and personal experience:

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge

It’s a unique shape for a sponge. Its uncommon shape made me think it wouldn’t be as great for application, but I was wrong. It works pretty well when applying makeup and the size of the sponge isn’t that far off from the original beauty blender. It’s also a lot cheaper as well. I do feel like this sponge held more water in it when being dampened. Also, I believe it holds more product in the sponge that’s not going to the face.

Beauty Blender

It gives an amazing airbrush look finish with your makeup. It has a nice shape, size and applies the makeup evenly. The major downside is the price of the beauty blender. This sponge is much lighter than others and is softer while taking less product. Latex-free.Swissco Precision Blending Sponge:

This sponge is much cheaper than the beauty blender but works just as good. It’s soft and doesn’t take too much product. It applies the makeup evenly and well. It’s not stiff on the face. It works just as well dry as it does dampen.

BH Studio Pro Beauty Sponge

It’s the same shape as the beauty blender, but smaller in size. It’s cheaper in price but feels tougher than the beauty blender. It feels stiff on the face when applying makeup even when dampen. Still, it doesn’t hold too much of the product and evenly distributes the makeup product on the face.

London SoHo New York Beauty Sponge

The shape is much longer than the beauty blender but less expensive. It doesn’t pick up too much product when applying to the face.MAC Pro Performance Sponge:

The shape is different from the beauty blender. It’s a larger version and doesn’t expand so much when dampen. This sponge is not as soft and doesn’t apply makeup as easily as the beauty blender sponge, but still works well. You’d just have to be okay with the tough sponge feeling. Sephora Precision Sponge:

Unlike the beauty blender, it’s made out of latex. It gives a nice coverage, but it’s tough on the face to where you have to stamp it in your face. It also picks up a lot of makeup product when using and applying. Besides that, it blends and applies the makeup with ease.
