I think BB cream is an excellent product for those who struggle with acne. But back when I had severe acne, BB cream's light coverage was not enough for me.
I used Neutrogena Skin Clearing Oil-Free Makeup. It's a blemish treatment with salicylic acid. This liquid foundation was a very good product for my skin. It never broke me out and the coverage was light but sufficient enough for my skin to look nice.
After my skin cleared up, I decided to switch to regular liquid foundation. I began to use Maybelline Fit Me! Foundation. This matte and poreless foundation was the best product I have ever used, by far. It went on my skin smoothly and evenly, giving my skin a beautiful complexion.
I recently switched to Configure beige liquid foundation for normal skin. I have not tried it out yet but the color matches my skin tone nicely so I'm excited to test it out. The reason I switched to a new product was because the Maybelline foundation became too expensive for my student budget to handle.
I decided to give a drugstore product chance because I have heard that they can be surprisingly good. It might be a good idea to use BB cream as a base for your face, then apply a light layer of foundation on top. You have to be careful not to clog your pores with too much product!
I have used three foundation products so far, and all of them have been very wonderful for me. I have to be very careful about the makeup products that I use because I basically have makeup on all day. Before, when I did not have a proper way of cleaning my makeup off, I used to break out all the time. Now that I use olive oil to remove my makeup, my skin is basically pimple-free. For those of you guys who struggle with acne and makeup, I really strongly recommend that you invest in olive oil to remove makeup.
Olive oil also rejuvenates your skin and leaves it refreshingly moisturized. The only time I am makeup free is when I am sleeping or taking a shower. I realize that it's very unhealthy for my skin to be constantly covered in makeup, but I can't turn back anymore. The only reason I wear makeup is to cover up my acne marks and fill in my acne scars. Someday, I hope to be able to face the world with a makeup-free face.
