Acne is a common skin concern, it's often inevitable and affects people of all ages. But don't fuss, common acne treatments are already available in your own home, specifically, your kitchen, plus these are all natural acne treatments - yaaaay!
Honey is an effective acne treatment thanks to its antibacterial properties.
After rinsing and drying your face, dab raw honey on your pimple or apply it to your whole face as a mask, leave it on for 30 minutes and rinse it with cold water.
You can also mix 2 parts oatmeal to 1 part honey, almost too good to eat, but use this as a mask and it will help reduce acne inflammation and redness.
Apple Cider Vinegar
One of the many uses of this must-have is treating acne, Apple Cider Vinegar has antiseptic properties that make it effective to fight bacterial infection plus it helps balance the skin's pH level leading to fewer blemishes!
Start with a clean face. Following a ratio of 1 part Apple Cider Vinegar and 3 parts water, dip a Q-tip into the mixture and apply the solution directly to the blemish.
This is a great all-purpose acne home remedy, it's packed with Vitamin C that can boost any skin type, it has Citric Acid that works as an exfoliant, and it acts as an astringent to harden the sebum and dry out the acne itself!
For this treatment, rinse the face and pat dry using a towel. Use a freshly squeezed lemon juice and using a Q-tip, dab the lemon juice directly to your blemish. If you have sensitive skin, try mixing the lemon juice with a bit of yogurt or rose water before applying to your blemish.
Aloe Vera Gel
Referred to as “plant of immortality”, the Aloe Vera plant works well on its own as an anti-inflammatory to reduce the size of acne, redness and it helps fade acne scars too. It also has antibacterial properties to combat bacteria!
Get a pure Aloe Vera gel by cutting a leaf from the plant and squeezing the gel from the middle, you may also scrape it with a spoon.
Store bought Aloe Vera gels are also available, we suggest getting one with the least amount of additives. (Try the Banish Aloe Vera Oil, available on our website)
Starting with a clean and dry face, apply the Aloe Vera gel directly to your blemishes, do this twice a day and your acne will be gone in a few days.
Note: It's best to do a patch test on your jawline before applying to your face or blemishes. Apply a small amount of the solution on your jaw area and wait 30 minutes to see if you might be allergic to any of these ingredients.
