Top 10 Must Know Beauty Life Hacks

Written By M.Hart

When it comes to things like hair masks and cleaning up the excess nail polish on my cuticles, I don't have the patience to in my mind, waste hours doing unnessecary tasks, when I could be working.

But, over the years, I've discovered some amazing hacks that have really saved me a lot of time and frustration. Let's begin, ladies and gents!

1. Cleansing Conditioner

Dry hair? Don't have the time to wait four hours for a hair mask to do it's job? No problem! Mix a little coconut oil in with your shampoo, whilst in the shower, and just massage it into your hair, it acts as a cleansing conditioner! And it's just as moisturizing as any hair mask I've used.

2. Cracked, Dry Feet Remedy

I suffer with dry skin everywhere, but especially on my feet. They're often calloused and just unattractive. I use a mixture of 1/4 cup olive oil and 1/4 cup of unscented lotion, pop it in the microwave for 10 seconds, rub it on, apply ceramic wrap to trap in heat for extra moisture, and lastly put on some cotton socks. Leave on for 10 minutes to overnight!

3. Clear Coat Your Rings!

If you're sensitive to cheap rings, apply a clear nail polish to the inside of your rings. No more green fingers!

4. Hair Conditioner for Shaving Cream

Ever need to do a last minute shave and realize you're out of shaving cream? You're not the only one. But it's an easy fix! Just use hair conditioner instead, it'll work just as well, while adding some conditioning benefits. (pun intended)

5. Use Shower Caps to Pack Your Shoes!

I've often gotten to my hotel after a long flight and realized my dirty shoes have transferred dirt on to all of my clothing. To prevent those temporary stains, place your shoes in a shower cap! Simple and cheap.

6. Baby Powder

Baby powder is great to soak up grease at your roots (especially if you’re a blonde, or a light brunette) but did you know it can score you thicker lashes as well? Curl your lashes like normal, then apply one single coat of mascara to them. Roll an extra dry wand (like the kind you find at the sample tables in Sephora), in a bit of baby powder and dust onto your lashes, then apply another coat of mascara–it will stick to the powder and create mega-thick lashes (just be careful if you have contacts!) that could totally pass for falsies in a pinch.

7. Heat Your Lash Curler

Take heat to it! Sure, it works fine with your basic three steady pulses (root, middle, ends), but adding a bit of heat can really make the most of it. A quick blast of the blow dryer will increase the temp of the metal, leaving you with lashes that curl easier and stay curled longer

8. Kool-Aid Lipstain

You loved the Kool-Aid man as a kid, you'll love him even more now. Get a packet of Cherry Kool Aid and place it into an empty container. Lick your finger, then dip it in the Kool-Aid. Apply to your lips and you have a beautiful, 24 hour stain. (Yes, it's seriously 24 hours)

9. Vaseline Cuticle Cleaner

Do you ever paint your nails and get the polish all along your cuticles and sides of your fingers? I'm guilty of doing so, especially when I'm in a rush. Slather vaseline all along your cuticles prior to painting your nails, and wipe away when finished! It'll make for an easy clean up, while moisturizing your cuticles.

10. Peppermint Headache Rescue

I suffer from migraines and an occasional headache every now and then. This hack has been the biggest life saver for me! Apply some peppermint oil to your temples and massage it in for a minute or two. The peppermint clears your sinuses and makes it easier to breathe, so it will soothe pain.

Good luck everyone!
