tropical green smoothie

Here’s a fresh and fruity smoothie to help you look and feel your best. Not only is this smoothie yummy but it also has hidden vegetables! While the tropical fruits may mask the green taste, they also play an important role in nutrient absorption. Without vitamin C from the fruits, our bodies would have a hard time incorporating the iron from the greens.

This smoothie supports good digestion, helps you look younger, hydrates, aids in immunity, and even helps your blood carry more oxygen. With the addition of a protein powder you will have a wholesome breakfast or post-workout treat.

  • 1 cups pineapple chunks
  • 1 large peeled orange
  • 1 cup frozen mango
  • 1 cup spinach leaves
  • 2 de-stemmed kale leaves
  • 2 cups pure coconut water

Blend kale + coconut water. Add fruit and greens and blend again! Add ice if you like a thicker, colder smoothie. Enjoy!

Why it is good for you?

Pineapple. contains vitamins, minerals, fiber and a special digestive enzyme called bromelain. Bromelain aids in protein digestion, improves blood circulation, and is an anti-inflammatory. Pineapple is also full of manganese, which is important in energy production and antioxidant defenses.

Orange. have high doses of vitamin C which help with immune function, aid in collagen formation (for wrinkle-free, smooth skin), and improves mood. Oranges also contain phytonutrients called citrus flavanones. These flavanones lower blood pressure and cholesterol.

Mango. high in vitamins A and C it is excellent at getting rid of blemishes and scars. Mango is also rich in AHA (alpha hydroxyl acids) which acts as a rejuvenator and aids in cell turnover rate, making skin look fresher and younger every day.

Spinach and kale. are loaded with vitamin K and iron — together these work to lower stress, inflammation, and blood pressure. They also help your body control blood sugar and cravings, support your thyroid, and alkalize your body. Iron provides cells with oxygen, helping fight fatigue and supports proper cell function.

Coconut Water. keeps you hydrated because it is full of electrolytes, B vitamins, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and sodium. It also contains helpful enzymes and amino acids. Coconut water also contains antioxidants which fight damage causing stress within your cells.

Even if you never gave a second thought to all of the health and beauty benefits in this smoothie, you will be happy with knowing that it just tastes great!
